chocolate chip cookies




We had a friend over the other day. I had some cookie batter in the fridge so I decided to make a cookie as big as my head. It was awesome - we put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a slice of warm cookie...it makes me drool a little bit just thinking about it!



Original Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie(s)
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12 oz) chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Beat butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Add eggs, then beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto a cookie sheet.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies

Pan Cookie variation: Grease a 15 x 10 inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread onto prepared pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 4 dozen bars.
